We recently invested in some shiny new toys, ahem, film making equipment. The Sony FS7 is a newcomer to the film scene, and we were fortunate enough to be some of the first in NZ to get our hands on one. It’s slow-motion footage is astonishingly good, and the new 4K CMOS sensor reproduces colour tones so beautifully it makes us drool just a little bit. Check out our test video, hurriedly shot by the fading light of the sun one evening. We’re looking forward to testing this kit out on some big upcoming shoots.
We love working with these guys – they let us get a bit freaky with our video projects and push things around creatively. Ground Effect Cycle Clothing have recently celebrated their 20th birthday and we put together this quirky little video to celebrate some of their formative “learning experiences”.
Local cycle clothing company Ground Effect asked us to do work with them to create an “about us” video – something short and sharp that traced the brief history of the company and conveyed something of its ethics and values. Check it out.
The good folk at European Sport Imports have developed a new training tool for cyclists who want to maintain fitness at times when the weather or the season just doesn’t allow: the Revbox Erg. It’s the latest in air resistance training technology for committed athletes. Check out this product vid we put together for them.
Trying to choose a tent for your summer holidays can be difficult. There’s a bewildering range of products on the market, and you often don’t understand the true functionality of a tent until it’s out of the bag and set up for the first time…enter Kathmandu’s new series of tent tour videos. These videos are designed to show the consumer exactly what to expect from a tent, and help to take the guess work out of choosing something to suit your needs. Below is the first in a series of tent tour videos we’ve created for Kathmandu.
We created a number of teasers for Audi to push out to social media, and to advertise future Ice Experience events. These short videos are just enough to make you wish you were behind the wheel.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of checking out the Heaphy Track from the comfort of your bike saddle, you’re missing out! Back in July we decided to ride the Heaphy with a crew of friends. Being the middle of winter, we were slightly concerned we’d encounter some extreme conditions, but the weather gods obliged with 3 days of clear blue skies and sunshine. Coincidentally, local cycle clothing company Ground Effect also needed a video about packing for an overnight trip. So, completely ignoring their advice to pack light, we packed our heaviest digital SLR and a selection of lenses, and filmed as we rode.
Check out the finished product.
This is the second in a series of well overdue posts about the Audi Ice Experience 2014. We’ve had the privilege of shooting for Audi at this event for the past five years, and it never gets old. Beautiful alpine scenery, fast cars, snow and ice – what’s not to like?
If we had to rank recent work experiences, this one would up the top somewhere. Back in June, a big crew gathered in Christchurch, flew to Auckland for a few short days shooting, then headed to Tonga for 10 days of adventuring. The crew consisted of Simon from Resonate, Kathmandu staff members, photographer Dean Mackenzie, film-maker Jason Larraman, and a number of good-looking, outdoorsy Kathmandu Summit Club members who were the talent.
Tonga treated us to tropical temps, friendly locals, and stunning scenery. Simon was enthralled with the place, and hopes to get back there for a personal trip in 2015. Are you interested in being part of the next exciting trip? Check out Kathmandu’s website to see how you can submit an application to be part of the crew.
Here’s the behind the scenes vid Simon created to capture the experience.
For the past five years we’ve headed South to Queenstown for the Audi Ice Experience. This year’s event was no less exceptional than previous; in fact, it might even have been the best so far. Shiny new kit, in the form of a DJI Phantom 2 drone and a Sony FS700, made the filming experience all the more pleasurable. Each day Resonate produced a same day edit which was played to the clients at dinner. Below is the last same day edit for the 2014 Audi Ice Experience.
